Privacy Policy

Lieu's Asian Bistro ("Lieu's," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains how the Lieu's mobile app handles information and what happens when you choose to open third-party services from the app.

1. The app does not require an account

You can browse the menu, save favorites, read restaurant updates, view restaurant information, and change settings without creating or signing in to a Lieu's account. The app does not create or authenticate a Toast or loyalty account.

2. Information handled by the app

Data stored on your device: The app stores favorites, recently viewed dishes, onboarding status, dismissed promotions and announcements, and notification preferences in local storage. This data is not linked to a name, email address, Toast account, or order history.

Location (optional): Location is requested only after you tap Check distance. If permitted, your coordinates are used on the device to calculate distance to our Beacon Drive restaurant. The app does not store or transmit those coordinates. Location is not required to browse or order.

Push notifications (optional): If you enable promo and event alerts, our notification service stores an Expo push token, a random installation registration key, device platform, opt-in status, and update time. This record is used for app functionality and restaurant promotional notifications. It is not linked to a name, email address, Toast account, or order history.

Updates and diagnostics: This release does not use behavioral analytics or advertising SDKs. Expo's EAS Update SDK stores a random app-install update identifier in system app preferences and sends it with operating-system and standard network request information such as IP address. It may also send limited details about a recent failed update or prior fatal error. Expo uses this information to deliver, secure, troubleshoot, and improve its update service. We do not link it to your identity or use it for tracking or marketing. Expo handles it under Expo's privacy policy.

Communications: If you tap an email, phone, or website link, the destination app or website handles the information you choose to provide under its own privacy terms. The Lieu's app does not store the contents of those communications.

3. Toast and other third-party services

Online ordering, payment, gift cards, and reservations are provided on Toast's website. Toast may offer its own sign-in or loyalty services there. Information entered on Toast—such as contact details, delivery address, order details, account information, and payment information—is collected and processed by Toast under Toast's privacy policy.

The Lieu's app does not receive or store full payment-card details, Toast credentials, loyalty membership data, or Toast order history. Links to maps, social media, and other websites are also governed by those services' privacy policies.

4. How we use and share information

We use the optional push-registration record to operate notifications requested by the user and to send restaurant promotions or event notices. Expo and Convex process the limited identifiers and diagnostics described above to provide app updates, notifications, and app content. Service providers may process this information only to provide services on our behalf and are required to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law. We do not sell personal information or use these records for tracking. We may disclose information if required by law or necessary to protect guests, staff, or the business.

5. Retention and deletion

Lieu's preferences remain on the device until you delete them in the app, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app. Expo's SDK-managed random update identifier remains in system app preferences until the app is uninstalled and is not removed by the Lieu's preference-deletion control. An optional push-registration record is retained while alerts remain enabled; it is removed when the app successfully processes an opt-out or app-data deletion and automatically expires after 180 days without a refresh from the app. Limited update request and diagnostic information is retained by Expo only as described in Expo's privacy policy and service terms. Toast determines retention for information collected on Toast's website under Toast's privacy policy and applicable deletion rights.

Delete data stored by the Lieu's app

In the app, open Settings and tap Delete data stored by this app. The app first unregisters the device from promo alerts and then permanently removes all Lieu's local-storage values, including favorites, recent dishes, onboarding status, dismissed updates, and notification preferences. This process does not require an account, password, phone call, or email request.

If the notification service cannot confirm removal of an active push token, the app does not claim deletion succeeded and asks you to retry. Uninstalling the app also removes local data, but the in-app deletion control is the recommended path because it first unregisters notifications.

Request deletion of a Toast account and associated data

Data collected by Toast is controlled by Toast. Open Toast's direct privacy-rights form and select Deletion to request deletion of your Toast account and associated data. The form opens without a Toast login and does not require you to create another account or add a password. Toast uses the contact details you provide to verify identity and locate the account and data, communicates with you about the request, and processes it within the time required by applicable law.

6. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No transmission or storage method is completely secure.

7. Children's privacy and age rating

The app is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Restaurant event listings may occasionally reference alcoholic beverages; the app's store age rating reflects those infrequent references.

8. Permissions

The app does not use camera, microphone, or contacts permissions. Location and push notifications are optional and requested only in context. Core menu browsing and restaurant information remain available when those permissions are denied.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date.
